The Music Therapy Program at the Frost School of Music offers four distinct degrees and one non-credit certificate:
The Bachelor of Music degree prepares students for clinical careers in music therapy, working with a broad range of clinical populations.
The Master of Music Degree in Music Therapy with Undergraduate Equivalency is designed for the individual who has already completed a bachelor’s degree in some area of music and seeks training as a music therapist.

The Master of Music degree program is designed for the individual who already holds an undergraduate degree in music therapy and seeks advanced clinical and independent research training in the field.

The Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Music Education with Music Therapy Emphasis is designed for the individual with a previous degree in music therapy, a masters degree (either in music therapy or a related field), as well as substantial clinical experience. This degree prepares the individual for a teaching and research career.

This course provides a survey of the field of music therapy, including history, theory, and clinical practice. It also includes an opportunity to perform clinical observations by watching videos of music therapy in certain settings.
